New Hospice Program Approaches Milestone

BVNA is pleased to announce that its new Hospice program is expected to provide care to its 50th patient this month and is now accepting new referrals for patients living in the 32 towns that the agency services in Southeastern Massachusetts.

For over 100 years, BVNA had provided thousands of patients and families the very best in home health care and support…up to a point. Although the non-profit agency provides high quality clinical care which has recently been rated with 4.5 out of 5 stars (Medicare.gov), and has been a trusted resource in the region for generations, it still had to connect patients and families to other organizations for hospice care, the gold standard for end-of-life care. In 2019, the agency realized that it was time to offer the full spectrum of care to those it serves and launched efforts to build a hospice program of its own.

29th Annual Golf Tournament

Brockton Visiting Nurse Association’s Annual Golf Tournament Raises Over $85,000 for Specialty Care BVNA held its 29th annual golf tournament on Monday, September 17th at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton. The tournament netted over $85,000 that will be used to support specialty programs offered by BVNA, a non-profit provider of home healthcare services. Some of the specialty programs that the tournament supports include a Diabetes Education program, Palliative Care program and Wound Care program. This year, the agency honored William J. (Bill) Adams, Sr., President of ACS Services and Principal of WJA Properties, both of South Easton, for his dedication to helping BVNA through his involvement as a valued provider of technology services and as a generous volunteer. His efforts have helped to make the golf tournament a success for many years. As healthcare continues to become more complex and less personal, BVNA strives to bring services to the 30+ communities it serves to make care more personal, more sophisticated and, most importantly, delivered to patients in the setting where they are most comfortable…their own homes. Planning has begun for the 30th Annual Tournament, which is scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019 at Thorny Lea Golf Club.
